The theme for the next session is "How to Be the Best Critical Thinker". Critical thinking also involves some creativity. How are you creative or artistic? Do you think that "critical" is always a negative term?
Our session on critical thinking included a debate. The topic was "should Mother's day become a Federal Holiday, including closed government offices on the following Monday?" The initial vote was 7-3 in favor of the proposal. As the debate continued, the Con Team made some terrific points. The final vote was tied 5-5. that means that several people were swayed to the Con point of view. Good job by both teams!
I utilize critical thinking daily in my work and have felt in the past that my evaluations have been 'too' critical. I really appreciated the specific suggestions regarding tone and phrasing and a reminder that we are looking to practice 'Glow and Grow'. I've tried to focus on a couple of main points I saw for improvement rather than presenting an entire list.
